Renting furniture makes sense in many situations and circumstances. However, there are a few where it does not. You’d want to rent furniture if you accepted a work assignment or project that lasted for only a few months. Buying lots of furniture and then moving it after a short period of time would be impractical and too expensive. The Right Way of Renting Furniture

If you’ve made the decision to rent furniture, follow these simple steps for a pleasant experience. For example, you can do the following when selecting furniture:

● Pick each piece out yourself – selecting all of your furniture is desirable if you have unique tastes in furniture and accessories. If you are color conscious, you can go to a store that allows you to sort furniture and accessories according to color, model, type, and age.
● Rent an entire room at once – this is a great solution if you don’t want to have to worry about selecting the right color schemes, patterns, layouts. Many furniture rental stores will furnish entire rooms in their showrooms. They’ll allow you to rent out all of the furniture and accessories in a particular showroom.
● Go with rental packages – some furniture rental stores will offer you rental packages at discount prices if you agree to rent all of your furniture and accessories from them. Packages include all normal furniture and accessories a particular room like a living room or a dining room would need. Some packages allow you to add items and substitute different pieces of furniture and/or accessories. You can even buy household items like cups, bowls, spoons, brooms, etc…as packages.

Decide the length of time that you will rent for

You generally have to rent for at least a month to be considered. You can return the furniture after having rented for a month. Just keep in mind that rentals for shorter periods of time tend to be more expensive than those for at least six months at a time. Be sure to ask questions to see if shorter and longer leases are an option. Also inquire about policies and procedures before you sign a rental contract.

Most rental places will check your credit before they will allow you to rent. It’s important to make sure that your credit application is complete. The rental company will review your credit and contact you (if they approve you) to close the deal. Remember that every company has different policies and procedures so ask about these in advance.

Arrange a delivery time and place

You can plan every aspect of the delivery of your rental furniture to ensure that it will move into your apartment the same day that you do.

Lease expiration

Your lease will expire. Once it does so, you’ll have the option of extending it on a monthly basis. The rental company will pick your furniture up if you decide not to renew your lease.
