2023 Furniture Rental Trends

As crazy as it sounds, 2022 is almost out the door and 2023 is right around the corner. If by some chance, you’re curious about Toronto furniture rental trends for the upcoming year, the following will give you a better idea of what to expect:

• Comfortable seating – comfortable furniture should continue playing a major role in 2023. With people continuing to spend more time in their homes, comfort is one of the more important aspects to consider when renting furniture. As the pandemic changed many individual’s lifestyles, comfort became an essential factor in interior design. Look for comfortable and stylish pieces that emphasize function. This trend should continue through next year.

• Curved furnishings – while this is somewhat on a related note to the seating factor discussed above, curved furnishings will still be trending in 2023. Just don’t mix these with clean-lined Toronto furniture rental pieces as it can create an atmosphere of drama and tension.

• Larger scale furnishings – with new construction homes not getting any smaller, scale will continue being a prominent factor this next year. A significant percentage of the focus on furniture will be on larger scale items that offer a broader width of purpose while seating more people in the process. People are gathering more and more in their homes so 2023 will be about the ability to do more entertaining.

• Patterned furnishings – people will be getting bolder next year with colorful, patterned furnishings that serve as unique eye-catching pieces that quickly become a room’s focal point. If you’ve been looking at “outside-the-box” and more vibrant pieces lately, next year may be the ideal time to consider visiting Toronto furniture rental companies for these types of pieces.

• Sustainability – consumers and designers will both continue to go green this coming year. One of the primary trends that should play a role in rental furniture next year is the continued move towards eco-friendly, sustainable materials. Natural wood finishes are becoming increasingly more popular due to their minimal environmental impact. We will also be seeing cleaner lines, muted colors, and simpler yet more refined designs.

• Vintage furnishings – for those of you who love secondhand items, you’ll be happy to know that retro-inspired and vintage-inspired furnishings are expected to make a comeback in 2023. Additionally, mid-century modern design pieces have seen a surge in popularity of late in many local antique shops and flea markets. While these aren’t part of the rental scheme, you’ll be able to find some great deals.
